Privacy Policy

What ClickSay Does
ClickSay is a Chrome extension that lets you click any element on a web page, describe your feedback via voice or text, and copy a structured prompt to your clipboard for use with AI assistants.
Data Collection
ClickSay does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
Data stored locally on your device
ClickSay uses Chrome's storage.local API to store the following data entirely on your device:
- Feedback history: Element metadata (tag name, selector, text content, computed styles), your spoken/typed feedback text, page URL, and timestamp.
- Screenshots: Captured screenshots of the visible browser tab at the time of feedback, stored as images alongside your history.
- Settings: Your output format preferences, URL-to-file mapping rules, project root path, and relay preferences.
This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly copy it to your clipboard or enable the optional relay feature.
Data not collected
- No analytics or telemetry
- No user accounts or authentication
- No cookies or tracking
- No data sent to any remote server by default
Website analytics
The clicksay.net website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand visitor traffic, page views, and geographic distribution. This applies only to the website - the Chrome extension does not include any analytics or tracking code. You can opt out of GA4 tracking by using a browser extension such as Google Analytics Opt-out.
Optional Relay Feature
ClickSay includes an optional local relay server (clicksay-relay) that runs on 127.0.0.1:19876 on your machine. When enabled:
- Feedback prompts are sent from the extension to the relay server running locally on your computer.
- The relay forwards prompts to a local tmux session (e.g., Claude Code).
- No data is sent to any external server. All communication is localhost-only.
The relay is disabled by default and must be explicitly started by you.
Permissions
ClickSay requests the following Chrome permissions:
Data Retention
- Feedback history and screenshots are stored until you clear them manually or they are automatically purged based on your configured retention period (default: 30 days for screenshots).
- You can clear all history and purge all screenshots at any time from the side panel.
Third-Party Services
ClickSay does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services. The extension operates entirely within your browser and local machine.
Children's Privacy
ClickSay does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
Updates to this policy will be posted in the extension's repository. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
